    Your entrance fee provides you with Life Care, which allows you to fully enjoy independent residential living with the reassurance that additional care is available, should you ever need it. Life Care at Mirador combines unparalleled financial security and peace of mind with a truly independent lifestyle and a wide range of resort-style services and amenities.

  • Q: What is Mirador?

    Mirador is a resort-style retirement community for senior adults in South Corpus Christi. It is defined by three qualities:

    First, it is a residential retirement option that encourages health and wellness through an active, independent lifestyle.

    Second, it provides services, social activities and special amenities to enhance the lifestyle you're already enjoying.

    Third, it provides every independent living resident guaranteed access to on-site assisted-living, memory-support and skilled-nursing care at The Plaza, at little or no additional cost, should they ever need it, for as long as they need it.

  • Q: What will my monthly service fee cover?

    The monthly fee covers the full range of services, including:

    • Full interior and exterior maintenance of your residence
    • Beautifully landscaped grounds
    • Concierge services
    • All community amenities including:
      • State-of-the-art Fitness Club
      • Creative Arts Center
    • Flexible dining services, with the cost of one meal and complimentary continental breakfast included per day
    • All utilities, including cable TV, with the exception of phone
    • Weekly housekeeping and laundering of flat linens
    • On-site security with emergency call systems in each residence

  • Q: What if I decide not to move in?

    If you have to cancel your reservation due to reasons beyond your control, you'll receive your full deposit back. If you simply change your mind, we'll refund your full deposit, less a small processing fee.

  • Q: What's fun to do at Mirador?

    Opportunities to be active within and around Mirador are plentiful. Our beautiful campus is ideal for outdoor activities; we also have a state-of-the-art Fitness Club and pool where you can stay physically active. Choose from a complete calendar of activities, such as concerts, trips, parties, educational classes and seminars, guest speakers, spiritual opportunities, volunteerism and much more. You can select your daily activity preferences while enjoying our worry-free lifestyle and wonderful new friendships.

  • Q: As a Life Care resident, what if I run out of money?

    At Mirador, we value our commitment to our Life Care residents, so we've created a Financial Hardship Protection Plan. If you outlive your resources for reasons beyond your control and can’t pay your monthly fee, you can stay in your residence and keep your guaranteed priority access to our on-site health care.   • Q: What does it mean to be a not-for-profit community?

    While for-profit communities use their income to pay dividends to investors, Mirador, as a not-for-profit entity, reinvests revenue after expenses into the community, where it belongs. This difference is at the heart of Senior Quality Lifestyles Corporation’s (SQLC) mission and vision. Additionally, our not-for-profit status means that Mirador must meet stringent financial guidelines, including strict government regulations. Therefore, residents have peace of mind, knowing that not-for-profit financial controls and reduced operating costs translate into lower, stabilized monthly fees and favorable tax credits and exemptions. Research also indicates that not-for-profit communities invest more resources into health services than for-profit communities.

  • Q: How do I know this is for me at this time in my life?

  • Q: How much does it cost?

    The cost of living at Mirador consists of a one-time entry fee that is up to 90% refundable to you or your estate—as well as a predetermined monthly service fee based on the size of your apartment home.
